Night Diver Speciality

Night Diving totally changes even the most familiar dive sites into new and intriguing place with a range of creatures rarely if ever seen out during the day.
From Lobster and Crab out to feed to Octopus and Dog Fish Hiding among the rocks and vegetation.

Training

The Night diver speciality envolves 3 dives.

Dive 1
Descend using the bottom or a line.
Familiarisation with your new surroundings.
Communicate underwater with your buddy using hand and torch to signal.
Proper use of torch, compass, SPG etc. Underwater Navigation using compass/ natural navigation techniques.
Exploration

Dive 2
Descend using the bottom or a line.
Navigate using your compass returning to the boat or shore.
Communicate underwater with your buddy using hand and torch to signal.
Demonstrate proper use of torch, compass, SPG, computer /timer and dept gauge.
Demonstrate proper buddy contact during the dive.
Demonstrate how to search for and Signal to a lost or missing Buddy.

Dive 3
Execute a” Free descent” using the bottom or a line as a reference only.
Demonstrate Navigate using your compass returning to the boat or shore.
Communicate underwater with your buddy using hand and torch to signal.
Demonstrate proper use of torch, compass, SPG, computer /timer and dept gauge.
Demonstrate proper buddy contact during the dive. Remain stationary for 3 minutes during a simulated total light failure (during this time on a normal dive you and your buddy would locate and use your backup lights).
